Spark Creative Wellness Studio - 70 Woodfin Place, #212, Asheville, NC 28801
fee $95 (materials included)
This class is designed to explore how we as therapists can care for ourselves, how to keep ourselves clear channels for facilitating clients, and how to easily integrate the expressive arts into practice. We will explore the “creative connection” through clay, movement and meditation. The class is open to therapists, expressive arts therapists, spiritual mentors or any kind of caregiver interested in exploring expressive arts for themselves, or to use with clients. It can count as supervision hours for R.E.A.T. (Registered Expressive Arts Therapist) with IEATA – the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. (www.ieata.org).
DREAMS AND CLAY - Sunday September 26, 2010, 1pm - 5pm
Spark Creative Wellness Studio - 70 Woodfin Place, #212, Asheville, NC 28801
fee $85 (materials included)
This class will explore the creative synergy between art and dreams. We will discover how art can deepen our understanding of the dream space, how our dreams can enliven our artistic imagery, and how both can enrich our lives at a profound soul level. During our time together we will focus on images and themes in our dreams and see how they can elicit artistry in clay and then further integrate these through meditation and movement. Working with the clay can bring our dreams alive with the power of the Mystery at their and our core.
CLAY AND SELF-CARE - Saturday October 2, 2010, 9am - 4pm
Odyssey Center for Ceramics - 236 Clingman Ave, Asheville, NC 28801
fee $110 (plus materials)
This course is designed for the "helping profession" - nurses, therapists, hospice workers, social workers, parents with disabled children, adults supporting aged parents - and anyone who is in the service of supporting others. Using the medium of clay participants will explore how and where they need to care for themselves, possible blocks to being more present with those needing care and generally a time for play away from the "care of care-giving".
